Jayne Czik

Jayne Czik joined Citnalta Construction Corp. as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer in May 2011. Citnalta is a family owned general contractor, established in 1974, whose clients are primarily public sector agencies. Jayne handles legal and risk management services including bidding, proposals, negotiation, transactional work, risk management, insurance placement, and claims and litigation issues. These services involve assisting Citnalta with the development of business solutions to legal issues and disputes. Jayne is also responsible for overseeing compliance and ensuring that executive management is apprised of new regulatory and compliance requirements.

Prior to joining Citnalta, Jayne was the Deputy General Counsel at MTA Capital Construction (MTACC) in New York. MTACC is the MTA agency responsible for the MTA's mega transportation projects and system expansion program. Jayne counseled senior management on legal and procurement issues pertaining to MTACC projects involving state, city and federal funding. Jayne began working at MTACC shortly after the agency was created and remained there for seven years, giving her an opportunity to work on several projects from inception through completion and close out.

Jayne has been focusing on construction law for over twenty years and has worked in a variety of positions including private practice in a law firm and Editor of Construction Company Strategist, a national newsletter that provided practical business management and legal strategies for construction company professionals and attorneys. She has authored several papers and has been a frequent speaker and instructor on issues related to the construction industry and construction law. Jayne is an active member of the American Bar Association's Forum on the Construction Industry. She served as an Editor of the Hard Hat Case Notes for The Construction Lawyer from 2003 – 2009. Jayne is also a member of the American Arbitration Association's National Construction Panel.
